Rooted in Green

Three books. One living forest. Bonds that refuse to break.

Join the Pride — get a heads-up the moment Book One goes live.

Deep in the Living Wilds, the forest and its guardians share one root system, one heartbeat, and one slow-healing wound. When blight, tyranny, or a seed that should not exist threatens to unravel it, the ones bound to protect it have to decide how much of themselves they're willing to give the green.

Book One

The Mending Grove

The forest is dying from the inside out.

Armon Thorn was raised to hunt alone and claim glory for himself. When blight begins to crawl the root-paths toward the Heartroot, the living heart of the Living Wilds, he is forced into an alliance with Corivel Silverwood, a forest guardian whose power is quieter than his claws and far more costly to lose. Bound by a living resonance neither of them asked for, Armon and Corivel must hold the marker stones, face the lightless evil that once was a guardian, and decide whether love is strong enough to stand where steel alone will fail.

Book Two Dawn Pride cover

Book Two

Dawn Pride

Five years of hard-won peace. A call from the north that cannot be ignored.

When word reaches the Thorn-Obsidian Pride that humans are under siege beyond the mountain barrier, Armon, Corivel, and their allies take the under-mountain road, past trolls, stone, and a golden dragon who remembers what tyranny costs. On the far side waits a tyrant who fights tooth and claw, and a just Alpha willing to risk everything to break his cousin's rule. Alliances will be forged in blood and mead. Not everyone who marches north will walk home.

Book Three The Green Call cover

Book Three

The Green Call

A seed rises from scarred earth. Something answers.

At Dawn Pride, four guardians plant a seedling cut from the Heartroot itself, the ancient pair's only child. It heals rough shifts. It calls those who carry a rare, dangerous trait. And when two of them stand too close, the dirt itself begins to warm. Corivel must decide how much of a held secret she is willing to force into the open, outside the new marker line, while older powers gather under a green that does not care about old stories, only about what it was made to grow.

Beta Readers Wanted

I'm looking for a handful of readers willing to read Book One early, share honest reactions, and flag anything that pulled them out of the story. No experience necessary — just a love of fantasy romance and a willingness to tell me the truth.

I Want to Beta Read

A world with roots

Werecat Prides bound to the forest. Wolf Packs holding the river fords. Guardians who carry the Living Wilds in their blood and can heal, or unmake, the ground beneath their feet. Every alliance in this trilogy is built on who's willing to bleed for the green, and who isn't.

About the Author

Jaxxon Sterling grew up in the southeastern United States and finished his education at a British school in India. He started writing at eighteen — stories about werecats that never left his notebooks — and more than forty years later he still works the same way: the characters arrive first, and he writes down what they're doing and saying. Writing has always been an outlet for him, a place to work things out.

His influences run toward the writers who built the ground he plays on: J.R.R. Tolkien, Stephen R. Donaldson, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Robert E. Howard.

He's retired now, and splits his time between keeping bees and looking after a small colony of feral cats — Leo, Sylvia, Mittens Jr., Pumpkin, Snowflake, Tuxedo Sam, Matt, and a few others who've wandered in — alongside his wife, Cherie.

Rooted in Green, a fantasy romance trilogy about found families, hard-won peace, and the cost of protecting what you love, is his debut.
